ALESSANDRA BERA & FIGLI, BARBERA "LE VERRANE" 2020

A 100% Barbera cuvée made from young vines of 17 years old, farmed organically and planted on a 1-ha parcel of marly-limestone soil. Harvested by hand, of course, followed by 22 days of maceration in 50-hl cement vats with a few punch-downs, slow and gentle pressing to preserve the fruit, 24 months of ageing in cement vats. Bottled without filtration or fining.

Bera Le Verrane is a fresh and beautifully structured Barbera, with an intense garnet red color. Nose and palate recall sensations of ripe red fruit, black cherry and jam in the foreground, combined with a slightly balsamic note. Tasty in its frankness and its ability to act as an immediate drinking wine. Due to its freshness characteristics, it fits perfectly throughout the meal; it is enhanced with salami and, above all, with bagna cauda, but also with mixed boiled meat.
